PbR Scorecard Development and Implementation
The PbR Report Card for Trusts displays the major categories requiring measurement by NHS Trusts and PCTs in order to monitor performance under PbR. The major categories in the ScoreCard are:
- Activity Indicators e.g., patient volume data
- Coding Efficiency Indicators
- Coding Quality Indicators
- Coding Assignment Monitors
This Report Card can be prepared separately to display performance in any or all of the following data sections:
- Trust wide
- Hospital specific
- Clinical Directorate
- Ward specific
- Consultant specific
The purpose of the ScoreCard is to enable Managers to monitor performance and to identify specific areas of under-performance or over-performance where more rigorous analysis is required. The specific indicators can be customised at will by the Trust or PCT to reflect areas they have found to be more germane to the environment The ScoreCard is intended to be used by the Finance Department and Clinical Managers to routinely monitor performance under PbR e.g., monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually.
