Diagnostic Assessment of Financial Management Strategies under PbR and PBC
This project is intended to support the Primary Care Trust in:
- Assess current financial management and patient care management processes at the Trust Hospitals and PCT. The assessment will identify best practices as well as change opportunities in improving financial management, data delivery, admission assessment and alternative level of care triage processes, care management efficiencies and discharge processes.
- Receive and analyse financial management information to measure and gauge performance under Payment by Results (PbR) and Practice Based Commissioning (PBC)
- Understand, accept and trust the data definitions and data quality checks used by the Primary Care Trust and Trust/Hospitals to provide valid financial management and PbR related data
- Understand the Trust/Hospitals capability to manage the non-elective clinical patients to
- Avoid clinically unnecessary acute care admissions
- Reduce length of stay, including excess bed days
This diagnostic tool from MADC with its methodology has the ability to streamline the various data and work practices so as to identify where the specific work is to be done.
