Admission-Discharge Criteria for all Levels of Care

Installation of Clinical, Evidence Based Admission and Discharge Criteria for all levels of care is a critical element of a Utilization Management program. MADC has entered a business relationship with The Oak Group and offer their criteria and software through a special offer to NHS organizations. The MCAP CRU criteria were originally created by the authors of the Admission Evaluation Protocol (AEP) as a second version built specifically to be more robust criteria.

First introduced in the 1980s, MCAP criteria are now widely used in Canada and the USA both for medical/surgical as well as for behavioural health care facilities and specifically used in many different level of care settings as well as to enable commissioning. CritViewTM Collect provides a structured way for Case Managers to perform level-of-care focused reviews. In addition, it is a full data management system. CritViewTM Collect allows users to navigate the entire collection of MCAP CRU criteria by level of care. The application’s configurable interface makes the review process easy and conforms to the Case Manager’s workflow. CritViewTM Collect can be configured with customized codes for patient admission and/or delayed discharge Reasons, Delays, and Quality Indicators --- data that will be very useful in identifying patterns and trends for performance improvement initiatives as well as future commissioning actions to strengthen community resources.
